Welcome to the Summer Reading Program 2023!
This year's Summer Reading Challenge theme is "All Together Now" which focuses on kindness, friendship, and unity. Sign-up begins on May 19th and until June 23rd.
Below is the schedule of the Summer Reading KICK-OFF for each Library:
Logansport Library Summer Reading KICK OFF is on May 25th from 2:00 pm -5:00 pm
Stonewall Library Summer Reading KICK OFF is on May 31st from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
Pelican Library Summer Reading KICK OFF is on May 31st from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Mansfield Library Summer Reading KICK OFF is on May 31st from 3:00 to 5:00 pm
HOW TO REGISTER for the Summer Reading Program
Eligibility: Children ages 18 months through 17 can register. Young “listeners” are eligible to participate in the “Read-to-Me” Program. Children must present a DeSoto Parish Library Card at the time of registration.
Click HERE to register via Google form and APPLY FOR A LIBRARY CARD if you don't have one.
PARTICIPATION: Participants will be allowed to log books and receive awards at one library location only. Attendance at library programs is not required for participation in the Summer Reading Program.
Book Logs: Participants will record the books they read during the Summer Reading Program on a book log. Additional sheets of paper may be attached to the original as needed. Book logs must be returned by Friday, June 23. You may download and print a Summer Reading Log or pick one from the Library.

Books: Only books from the DeSoto Parish Library may be logged and counted toward certificates and awards. Participants can check out or read books in the library and record them in their book logs. XF (E) Picture Books will not count for certificates and awards for participants who have completed third grade or higher. Any variation from this rule is at the discretion of the librarian in charge.
Awards or Prizes:
Logansport Library: Picture book readers: Participants who read 15 books or more will receive a medal and a certificate. Chapter book readers: Participants who read 5 books or more will receive a medal and a certificate. Every 3 books read you get your choice of the following: $2.50 off at Check Out, free ice cream from Diary Queen, a free burger from Whataburger, or a free Icee from Travel Stop.
Mansfield Library: Participants who read 10 books or more will receive a certificate.
Pelican Library: Participants who read 10 books or more will receive a certificate.
Stonewall Library: Participants who read 15 books or more will receive a medal and a certificate.
