Earlier this February, DeSoto Parish Library proudly launched its new Digital History Archive during a week-long community celebration, Love Your History, Love Your Library. While Launch Week has passed, the Digital History Archive remains available for everyone to explore—anytime, anywhere.

The Ladies Craft Circle at the Stonewall Branch meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 1:00 P.M. Participants gather for a fun craft project while enjoying great company and conversation.

Creativity was on full display at Logansport’s Happy Hour Crafts, where a small group of participants created beautiful paintings in a fun and relaxed setting.

The Adult Chair Yoga Class at the Mansfield Main Branch continues to be a favorite way to start the day, especially during chilly mornings. Designed to promote gentle movement and relaxation, the class provides a welcoming and supportive environment for participants of all experience levels.

Everyone had a fantastic time playing BINGO with Ms. Marie at the Pelican Branch on Monday, January 12. Laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of excitement filled the room as participants enjoyed an afternoon of fun and fellowship, along with the chance to win some great prizes.

A fun and engaging STEM program took place at the Logansport Library, where participants enjoyed making fake snow and creatively exploring hands-on science.

Story hour at the Pelican Branch was filled with laughter and holiday cheer as young participants enjoyed a festive morning of activities.

The Adult Winter Craft event at the Mansfield Branch was a delightful success, bringing creativity and festive spirit together.

The Stonewall Branch Annual Holiday Open House was a wonderful celebration of the season. Thanks to everyone who joined to share in the holiday spirit and make the event so special.

The Mansfield Library invites the community to celebrate the holiday season with a Christmas Piano Recital on Friday, December 12th, at 6:30 p.m.

DeSoto Parish Library is excited to offer LOTE4Kids (Languages Other Than English)—an online resource that opens a world of stories for children. With over 8,000 picture books in more than 100 languages, all with English translations, kids can read in their home language while exploring multilingual learning. Best of all, it’s completely free for library cardholders.

Participants enjoyed a wonderful experience at the recent Adult Cooking Class, hosted by Mrs. Crystal Thomas in partnership with Mrs. Shirley Thomas and the New Wings Foundation.

The Logansport Library was filled with delicious aromas and friendly conversation during the recent Cookbook Tasting event.

The Stonewall Branch was filled with creativity and cheer as Beverly Grubb and the Craft Swap Class gathered to make beautiful, multi-use wooden snowflakes.

The Young Artist Club had a frightfully fun time at the Logansport Library on Monday, October 20, 2025. Participants got creative with clay, crafting and painting their very own wonderfully weird zombie sculptures.

DeSoto Parish Library is excited to welcome local author Anthony Lionel Mullins to the Mansfield Main Library on October 6 for a special book signing and reading of his debut work, Evie.

The Mansfield Main Library has become a place for hands-on learning and community connection every Wednesday, thanks to Mrs. Crystal Thomas of the Shirley Thomas New Wings Foundation.

Library Card Sign-Up Month was celebrated with enthusiasm and strong community participation across all DeSoto Parish Library branches. A big thank-you goes out to everyone who signed up for a new card, renewed an existing one, updated their information, or simply visited their local branch to join the fun.

Stonewall Library recently hosted a lively Baby Bounce session led by Ms. Tonnette. Little ones enjoyed singing, bouncing, and engaging activities designed to promote early literacy and movement.

The Logansport Library recently welcomed food lovers and aspiring chefs to its first Cookbook Tasting program, featuring recipes from the highlighted title, Taste of Home 5 Ingredient Cookbook.
