2013 DeSoto Parish Library Summer Reading Program

 

Eligibility: Children ages 2-17 can register. Young "listeners" are eligible to participate in the "Read-to-Me" Program. 

Registration: Registration begins Thursday, May 23th. Children must present a valid DeSoto Parish Library card. 

Participation: Participants will be allowed to log books and receive awards at one library location only. Attendance at library programs is not required to receive reading awards. 

Books: Only books from the DeSoto Parish Library may be logged and counted toward certificates and awards. Participants are allowed to read books in the library without checking them out and record them in their book logs. EF Picture Books will not count for certificates and awards for participants who have completed 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th grades. Any variation from this rule is at the discretion of the Children's Librarian at each branch. 

Book Logs: Participants will record the books they read during the Summer Reading Program on a book log. Additional sheets of paper may be attached to the original as needed. Book logs must be returned by Saturday, June 21, 2013 . 

Awards: Participants who read 10 books or more will receive a certificate. Participants who read 25 books or more will receive a medallion.
